2016-2017 President’s Letter

September 2, 2016

Welcome to NIRI Silicon Valley’s 2016-2017 Season!

This year, our chapter theme is Raise Your Game! We have a broad range of talented investor relations professionals in Silicon Valley – from corporate investor relations officers, to strategic investor relations counselors, to innovative vendors that provide technologies to help us on a daily basis. We have newer investor relations professionals who bring a fresh perspective to the practice, and old hands who can share their experiences tackling the wide range of IR challenges. In our membership, we have all market caps and a broad range of industries represented (no, it’s not all tech!). Our goal is to bring all this expertise together to help us collectively Raise Our Game! through networking, education, and good clean fun.

Your board met this summer to develop a calendar of events over the next nine months that we believe will help you Raise Your Game! We’ll kickoff with a networking cocktail reception in September in partnership with IR Magazine, cover topics such as regulatory changes and telling your company’s story at our First Friday luncheons, raise a glass for the holidays in early December, and learn more about technical analysis and stock moves heading into the award winning Spring Seminar in March. We’ll sprint for the finish of the season discussing budgeting and the current state of Europe, and really Raise Our Game at the annual Golf Scramble and Member Appreciation night.

For all events, everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a colleague. But, please register early, as we are starting to run out of room at the Four Seasons for our lunches!

So, mark your calendar:

We are thrilled to be one of the nation’s largest chapters, as it gives us the resources to put on such a broad range of events, including the highly regarded, day-long all-IR Seminar. But, as a chapter, we are also looking to Raise Our Game! by attracting even more perspectives and expertise into the membership. We welcome new investor relations professionals and professionals in other, related functions such as corporate communications, legal and finance (including CFOs) from companies public or private, along with strategic counselors and innovative vendors serving all market caps and industries.

Additionally, NIRI Silicon Valley and NIRI San Francisco have launched an optional joint membership program, called the Northern California Package. While membership is not required to attend any event, the program will give you the benefits of membership and allow you to participate in all of the events from both chapters, at a special rate.

For further information on how to join and promotional rates that expire soon, please visit the membership page of NIRI Silicon Valley’s website – http://nirisv.org/membership/.

Here’s to Raising Our Game together in 2016-2017!
